First Images From ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ Have Surfaced!

(PCM) There has been a ton of buzz regarding the return of iconic Disney character Mary Poppins to the big screen and we now have our first look at several images that were shared exclusively with Entertainment Weekly from the upcoming film “Mary Poppins Returns”.

The casting for the film was revealed several months ago and will include the talents of Emily Blunt in the leading role as iconic nanny Mary Poppins, as well as, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep and Lin Manuel Miranda. The film is set for release in December of 2018 and will take place roughly 25 years after the events that transpired in the original film which was directed by Robert Stevenson. Chicago director Rob Marshall is set to take the helm for the upcoming sequel/reboot.

According to the film’s synopsis, Jane and Michael Bank are all grown up with families of their own. Following a family tragedy, Mary Poppins moves in with Michael and his three children to bring a bit of joy back to their lives. We certainly hope the film will live up to the hype, as a lot of musicals these days can be hit or miss, but we definitely have faith in Marshall’s ability to provide us with a solid film. Ever since the news about “Mary Poppins Returns” was announced fans have been clamoring to get a first look at the cast, so we are pleased that Disney decided to share some first-look images exclusively with Entertainment Weekly.
