Lost Boy’s TV Series To Land On The CW

(PCM) Get the garlic ready and the cool shades out, because it looks like The Lost Boys will be landing on the CW soon. That is correct the popular 1987 movie that everyone loves is heading to TV. With the exit of the CW’s popular vampire series The Vampire Diaries, the CW is looking to take another bite at the blood suckers.

The series will be brought back from the undead by Veronica Mars and iZombie creator Rob Thomas. Warner Bros Television and Gulfstream TV will also help with production. The series will be written by Thomas and be a new reimage of the cult film that was directed by Joel Shumacher, which starred Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Jason Patric, and Kiefer Sutherland.

The series has been envisioned as a seven-season, anthology-style run, the series will tell a story spanning 70 years, each season chronicling a decade. Season 1 will be set in San Francisco during the Summer of Love, 1967. Each season, the humans, the setting, the antagonist and the story all change — only the vampires, our Lost Boys, who like the Peter Pan characters never grow up, remain the same.

The series, will delve into what it really means to be immortal. The show will be executive produced by Thomas via Spondoolie Productions, his frequent collaborators Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge as well as Gulfstream principals Mike Karz and Bill Bindley.

As a fan, I’m looking forward to what will happen when the series will fall into the 1980’s and will a crossover of sorts take place, and will we see familiar characters from the film. Horror looks mighty good this year. A fresh take on such a cult classic film like Lost Boy’s is a risky move, but true horror fans are always looking for fresh blood.
