(PCM) It has long been rumored that producer/director J.J. Abrams was going to make a sequel to 2008’s “Cloverfield”, however any details about the project were kept securely under wraps. Much the same way that Abrams revealed the news about “Cloverfield”, he has taken the same approach with dropping a surprise trailer that is airing with the current Michael Bay film “13 hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” for the upcoming sequel titled “10 Cloverfield Lane”.
The film will star John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and John Gallagher, Jr. and from what we learned in the trailer will be set in a post-apocalyptic universe. Abrams revealed to Collider.com that the film is a “blood relative” of “Cloverfield” which leads us to believe that it takes place within the same universe, however it may or may not be a direct sequel to the original film.
The upcoming film will be directed by Dan Trachtenburg and produced by J.J. Abrams. The screenplay was written by Josh Campell & Matt Stuecken. “10 Cloverfield Lane” will be released on March 11!
