Everyone wants something out of life – but sometimes we get more than we asked for! Image Entertainment lends a hand on October 25 with A Little Help, a sharp and witty dramedy about life’s “generosity” and how we all need to be rescued now and then from that bounty of lunacy. Directed by Michael Weithorn (co-creator, “King of Queens”), A Little Help will be available on DVD for an SRP of $27.97, on Blu-ray™ for an SRP of $29.97 and also on digital download.
Laura (Jenna Fischer, “The Office”) wants nothing more than to run her own life; however, it only seems to run her into the ground. A Long Island dental hygienist, she relies on guilty pleasures – cigarettes and beer – to help her cope with an unruly lifestyle. Dealing with Bob, her unfaithful husband (Chris O’Donnell, “NCIS Los Angeles”), an overbearing family and a brother-in-law (Rob Benedict, “Supernatural”) who’s loved her since high school, Laura could use a little help!
But when Bob suddenly dies and her 12-year-old son (Daniel Yelsky, Meet Monica Velour, “Rescue Me”) tells an outrageous lie at school to impress his classmates, Laura’s life seems to twist out of her grasp in a crazy, downward spiral. To whom – or what – does she turn for help? Her family? Herself? Or that nearest cold six-pack? Academy Award®-nominee Lesley Ann Warren (Victor/Victoria), Ron Leibman (Norma Rae; Emmy® winner, “Kaz”) and Brooke Smith (Silence of the Lambs) costar in this “highly entertaining and richly human movie experience” (Box Office Magazine).
Life has given Laura more than she can handle: oppressive relatives. An unreliable husband. A teen-age son on the edge. Love. Death. A Little Help is the story of a woman using her inner strength to deal with the outside world. With a little help, that is!
