Starring: Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts

When two huge stars come together, we always set our hopes high. But when two huge stars come together again after we already have seen them work well together, well, it’s got our hopes even higher. Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts are those two huge stars and the reuniting comes in the form of the romantic comedy Larry Crowne.

Tom Hanks plays the title character Larry, who goes to a local college to undergo a personal reinvention after losing his job in today’s recession. At the school, he becomes part of the community of outcasts who like to travel in packs on scooters while trying to find better futures for themselves. Larry also develops a crush on his public speaking teacher, played by Julia Roberts, who has lost passion for both teaching and her husband.

We have to admit that it seems a bit of a strange film to find the both of them in, but that just makes it pique our interest more. I mean, Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts have earned our trust over their long-spanning and highly-successful careers, so we’ll put our faith in them and this movie. It’s not going to be the heavy, dramatic films we may expect from the pair, but it will be nice to see the pair laughing, smiling, and causing us to do the same.
