“I can’t believe this is happening again.†– Stu (Ed Helms)
Two years and one unforgettable hangover later, the wolfpack is back! Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug are back for another adventure which movie goers won’t soon forget. The movie opens up very reminiscent of the first one with Phil making a phone call to Doug’s wife Tracey. Phil proceeds to tell her that they screwed up again and she asks about it being “no wedding bad?†before we flashback to one week before the phone conversation.  The plot reveals to us that Stu (Ed Helms) is getting married in Thailand to the very beautiful Lauren (played by Jamie Cheung). Phil and Doug are going but as we find out in another conversation between Doug and his wife Tracy, Alan only found out about the wedding because she let it slip in front of him.
Stu is eventually convinced to let Alan come to Thailand and the hilarity ensues from there. Alan’s jealousy of Lauren’s little brother Teddy (Mason Lee) is quite evident and provides for some laughs before the real “hangover†begins.  The guys sit on the beach with little brother included at Lauren’s insistence and what is supposed to be one beer turns into another adventure the likes of which they soon forget.  The tiger and baby are replaced with a drug dealing, crazy party monkey in the aftermath and it’s revealed that Alan had a plus 1 to the wedding in the form of the international criminal Leslie Chow!
Ken Jeong is back and reprises the role that introduced him to America in a major way.
We learn that Teddy went with them to party and he’s now missing while Doug ended up bailing on the guys after just one beer because his wife didn’t feel well. The guys have to go on an adventure through the streets of Bangkok to figure out what happened to them and the soon to be bride’s little brother. Their adventures take them to the street where they partied the night before, the police station, a monastery and a strip club where we get another cameo by Bryan Callen who played Eddie in the first movie.  The adventures continue and you learn more about Mr. Chow as they search for Teddy including a villainous role played by Paul Giamatti.
The Hangover II takes everything the first movie did well and just remixes it into a new and more outrageous situation. The one liners are hilarious whether it’s in a suburban IHOP or a Bangkok strip club. The situations that Stu, Alan and Phil get themselves in are utterly hilarious and unbelievable and the movie is filled with awesome music as well. The Hangover II even starts with another Danzig song and features another wonderful musical performance from Stu. If you saw The Hangover, you should come into The Hangover II knowing fully what to expect. While the similarities between the two movies are obvious, The Hangover II is a gut-busting action filled ride from the beginning to the end and as the old cliché goes “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.â€
