This weekend’s wide releases offer a little something for everyone.

For fans of the television show (and the previous movie), Sex and the City 2 looks to further the adventures of Carrie Bradshaw and pals as the foursome travel outside of New York for shopping, cocktails, love, and romance.

For those that prefer action and special effects, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time promises plenty of both.  The movie’s producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, has mastered the art of producing engaging action films, with his previous production credits including all three of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

In limited release, two amazing directors return with highly anticipated releases.  Amelie director Jean-Pierre Jeunet brings us Micmacs, while George A. Romero, the ‘father of zombie movies’, unleashes his latest on audiences in Survival of the Dead.

  1. Looking forward to checking out the new Prince of Persia film. Jake Gyllenhaal is a good match for Gemma. I totally liked him in Donnie Darko. There is another Jake movie coming – Love and Other Drugs. Has anyone read about that upcoming movie?
